The model Six Chuter that you choose and the method you select for assembly and certification should depend on how you intend to fly, the conditions and locations you choose to fly in and your level of skill in flying and maintenance. Take the time to discuss these factors with an authorized Six Chuter representative before you buy.
If you intend to fly primarily solo and want to avoid the legal training requirements of Sport Pilot then the SP 103 is the model for you. If you fly with combined passenger and pilot weights 400 pounds or under and from relatively normal fields at lower density altitudes the Legend DE equipped with the Rotax 503 will serve you well. Our Legend DE is a very cost-effective and high performing model for those who require the more powerful 65hp Rotax 582 engine. The Legend XL with Rotax 582 E Gear Box, Electric Start has been our most popular selling model. The Legend XL4s provide four-stroke engine dependability and incredible economy. And the Legend XT SSDC (Side-by-Side Dual Control) is our SLSA development model targeted for Certified Flight Instructors and other who enjoy the training environment provided with a side-by-side seating configuration.
Our Standard kits are sub-assembled at the Six Chuter factory for economical shipping anywhere in the world. The average builder can assemble these units in 40-50 hours. Through 2007 you can purchase a sub-assembled kit and have it inspected and certified as an Experimental Light Sport Aircraft. After certification of our SLSA (Special Light Sport Aircraft) you will be able to purchase these kits and have them certified as ELSA even after 2007. The SLSA of course will be assembled, tested and certified at the factory before it is sold. Six Chuter will also offer our XT ssdc and other models as either SLSA or ELSA kits.
Our flight center managers and sales representatives can help introduce you to these various models, provide assembly assistance, training and ongoing support rtegardless of the model that you choose.
